David joined Canopy Growth in January 2020 after a long stint as Chief Financial Officer and a member of the Executive Management Committee at Constellation Brands. David joined Constellation in 2004 as Vice President of Business Development. He also held roles as CFO, Constellation Europe; SVP, Treasurer & Controller; and CFO, Beer Division. While CFO at Constellation, David was also responsible for corporate strategy and Constellation’s venture organization.  As part of that work, David was instrumental in making the first major CPG investment in the Cannabis space with Constellation’s 2017 investment in Canopy Growth.  He has served on Canopy’s Board of Directors since November 2018.

David holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Economics from State University of New York at Geneseo and an MBA from State University of New York at Buffalo.


Mike Lee joined Canopy Growth in February 2019 and became CFO in June of 2019.

As CFO, Mr. Lee is responsible for finance, audit, technology, corporate development, and investor relations.  Prior to joining Canopy, Mr. Lee held previous roles with companies such as E&J Gallo Winery and PepsiCo where he served in a variety of commercially oriented finance roles supporting commercial/operating teams to deliver on its strategic imperatives. Most recently, Mr. Lee served as CFO of the Wine & Spirits division and head of business transformation at Constellation Brands.

Since joining Canopy, Mr. Lee has helped to build enhanced capabilities across his organization, helping to improve financial reporting & analysis, accelerating the accounting close, improving the Company’s control environment, while also leading a conversion to US GAAP reporting and the Company’s first year of compliance with the Sarbanes-Oxley Act.  Mr. Lee serves as a board member of Canopy Rivers, a publicly-traded venture capital firm.

Mr. Lee holds a bachelor’s degree in Accounting from California State University and an MBA from the University of Michigan graduating with honours from both universities and is a Certified Public Accountant in the state of California.


Rade Kovacevic’s role as Officer will commence upon receiving Health Canada security clearance required for all Officers and Directors of the Company. Rade Kovacevic serves as Chief Product Officer for Canopy Growth Corporation.

Rade began investing his savings in the Toronto Stock Exchange at the age of 8, opened an e-commerce firm at age 13, interned at a stock brokerage before he had completed high school, and operated a medical cannabis dispensary for almost a decade. He has a history of being able to bring key stakeholders together on marijuana policy, as a Co-Founder and former President of the Canadian Association of Medical Cannabis Dispensaries and a Co-Founder and former Advocacy Committee Chair of the Canadian Medical Cannabis Industry Association.

Rade has long been active in his local business community with the Guelph Young Professionals Network, Guelph Chamber of Commerce, Toronto Board of Trade, Ontario Chamber of Commerce, and Ontario Economic Summit having worked to develop policy to ensure Canada continues to be a supportive environment for both business and its citizens. He focused on Management Economics and Industry Finance while completing his Bachelor of Arts degree at the University of Guelph.


Phil serves as Chief Legal Officer of Canopy, where he is responsible for Canopy’s reporting obligations as a publicly traded TSX and NYSE listed company, as well as all company-wide legal, compliance and regulatory needs. Phil also oversees Canopy’s Advocacy and Government Relations departments, as well as the Chief Medical Officer’s department.  Phil is a member of Canopy’s Executive Management Team.

Phil joined Canopy in 2016 after almost a decade as General Counsel at Conversant Intellectual Property Management Inc. (formerly MOSAID Technologies Inc.).  Prior to that he worked at McCarthy Tétrault LLP. Phil obtained his Bachelor of Laws (LLB) from the University of Windsor in 2000, and holds a Bachelor of Arts in English Literature (with a minor in French) from Université Laval. Phil received the Ottawa Business Journal’s Top 40 under 40 Award in 2008 and was a finalist in Lexpert®’s Rising Stars—Leading Lawyers Under 40 in 2011.  In September 2017, he received Canadian In-House Lawyer’s magazine’s Innovatio Award – Dealmakers – Small Department, and received the Canadian General Counsel Award in the Osler Purdy Crawford Deal Making category in 2019.
